This position demands a hands-on approach to safety program development, requiring the individual to lead from the front by conducting field-based and classroom training, as well as daily toolbox talks to keep teams educated and informed about hazard recognition and safe work practices. The role also involves incident management, including investigations of incidents and near misses, with accurate documentation and corrective action issuance. A key aspect of the role involves enforcing lockout/tagout procedures on any damaged equipment or vehicles, coordinating personal protective equipment procurement and compliance, and ensuring that safety innovations and best practices are continuously introduced and aligned with company goals. The Safety Manager will work closely with the North Carolina division and broader company teams to share knowledge and align on best practices, promoting a proactive safety culture. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with Human Resources and Operations to support worker's compensation cases and return-to-work programs. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Two plus years experience in safety coordination or management preferably in traffic control or construction
• Ability to pass pre employment drug screening background check and fit for duty physical exam
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Physical strength and stamina to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel to various job sites independently
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
