The Restaurant Manager at BJ's Restaurants is responsible for managing all aspects of restaurant operations during opening, mid, or closing shifts. This includes hiring, training, supervising, and developing the restaurant team to deliver exceptional service and uphold high standards of food and beverage quality. As a critical management figure, the restaurant manager exercises independent judgment on significant operational matters and ensures compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The manager facilitates team communication through daily briefings, oversees maintenance and repairs, manages risk reviews, and leads local marketing and community engagement initiatives. Food safety and sanitation are paramount, and the manager regularly monitors food quality and financial inventory to maintain budget health. Leading and motivating team members through coaching, recognition, and performance management is a vital part of this role. The position demands a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a guest-first service orientation, requiring long periods on the restaurant floor actively supervising and engaging with staff and guests.
