Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and nurturing the leadership potential of girls and young women across a vast region covering 29 counties in central and eastern Washington as well as northern Idaho. Spanning approximately 67,000 square miles, GSEWNI plays a significant role as the premier leadership development organization for girls, firmly rooted in values that promote courage, confidence, and character. Through their commitment, they seek to transform the leadership landscape for girls into the next century, ensuring a better, more inclusive future for girls and women alike. GSEWNI is committed to creating a supportive environment where girls feel valued and motivated to grow as leaders. This mission is achieved through various programs and experiences designed to help girls build skills, explore interests, and cultivate resilience and self-esteem. The organization also plays a pivotal role in advancing the health and development of girls, making it a trusted authority in this field. As part of this legacy, the council provides outreach, recruitment, and leadership development opportunities to girls and volunteers in their extensive service area. The available role is full-time, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $25.00 based on experience, accompanied by excellent benefits. Those with bilingual skills are additionally eligible for a bonus, reflecting the organization's dedication to diversity and inclusion. Located in the Tri-Cities area, this position invites individuals passionate about fostering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to join a dynamic team. The primary responsibility for this role is to recruit new Girl Scouts and volunteers by engaging with schools, community events, and unique organizational partners. This involves planning and attending a range of recruitment activities such as school open houses, parent meetings, community fairs, and library events. The role requires maintaining relationships with community leaders and organizations to boost membership growth and ensure broad accessibility to Girl Scouting. Moreover, this position demands travel of at least 65% across Eastern Washington, with a vehicle provided, as well as flexibility for evening and weekend hours. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives on building connections, organizing events, and advancing a meaningful cause. The person will be involved in developing strategies for member recruitment, following up on leads promptly, and contributing to achieving the council's strategic goals for girl and adult membership. Detailed reporting on activities and progress toward targets will be required as part of this role. Successful candidates should demonstrate a passion for nonprofit work and a strong ability to engage with diverse community members, volunteers, parents, donors, and girls themselves. Technological competence and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications are essential to efficiently perform daily tasks and utilize data management principles. By joining GSEWNI, the candidate will be part of an organization that not only prioritizes leadership development for girls and young women but also embraces the principles of pluralism and diversity, ensuring Girl Scouting remains accessible to all.
