The Cypress of Hilton Head is currently seeking a part-time Receptionist for its Preston Health Center Skilled Nursing Department, a role critical to maintaining the smooth operations and welcoming atmosphere of the facility. This role centers on providing outstanding hospitality and communication support, as the receptionist will be the first point of contact for residents, staff, visitors, and vendors. Responsibilities include answering and transferring incoming telephone calls with professionalism and courtesy, managing room reservation forms for various community members, and performing a range of clerical duties such as typing and handling mail. The ideal candidate embodies the core hospitality promises of The Cypress: greeting everyone warmly by name, treating everyone respectfully, anticipating and responding to needs promptly, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and attention to detail. They will also be tasked with managing a busy telephone and two-way radio system, dispatching drivers, and ensuring sensitive information is handled confidentially. Given the nature of the senior living environment, the receptionist must be calm, organized, and capable of multitasking efficiently while delivering responsive and compassionate service.
A key attribute for success in this role is excellent communication skills with proper speech and grammar, a pleasant and measured tone, and the ability to complete tasks that require discrimination and attention in a sometimes fast-paced setting. Basic mathematical ability and computer proficiency are also important, as is the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. The Cypress values employees who demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to engage positively with residents and colleagues, maintaining a cooperative and courteous demeanor despite interruptions or demands. The role further requires adherence to compliance standards including reporting any suspected violations of the Code of Conduct and adhering to vaccination policies, with mandatory COVID-19 vaccination being a condition of employment unless an exemption is obtained. The Cypress of Hilton Head is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and respected.
