We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our dynamic food services team. This pivotal role is integral in delivering nutritious, delicious meals that enhance the well-being of our residents. As a Cook at Benchmark, you will be responsible for preparing food in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local standards as well as adhering to the company’s policies and procedures. Your work directly impacts our residents’ daily lives by ensuring they receive meals that are not only healthy and appetizing but also thoughtfully prepared with attention to quality and presentation.
The Food Services Director oversees your duties to guarantee that food service quality is consistently maintained at the highest standards. This position offers a balanced work-life experience with predictable, stable schedules and no late nights, making it an excellent choice for individuals seeking steady hours. Available shifts include 6am-2pm or 11am-7pm with rotating weekends, accommodating both full-time and part-time availability. Compensation is competitive at $21.75 per hour, with eligibility for benefits such as 401(k) with company match, paid training, and health insurance options depending on employment status.
In this role, you will operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, grills, steamers, mixers, meat slicers, and dishwashers. You will assist in setting up effective food production lines, ensuring timely meal preparation, and maintaining the dietary standards essential to our residents' health. A successful Cook at Benchmark embodies a positive and professional attitude, representing the community with pride while interacting with residents and their families. The position demands physical stamina as it primarily involves standing for long periods and the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds.

                - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Culinary Arts training preferred
 - Two years of dietary experience
 - Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
 - Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
 - Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
 - This is primarily a standing position, may need to stand in one place for extended periods of time
