As an Administrative Support and Receptionist professional at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, you will play a crucial role as the initial point of contact for the organization. Your responsibilities will include greeting and welcoming employees, vendors, volunteers, and visitors, managing front desk activities, and ensuring efficient communication flow by redirecting phone calls and providing accurate information. This role involves supporting the Directors of Operations and other administrative staff with various clerical tasks such as preparing correspondence, maintaining schedules and calendars, organizing electronic and hard-copy filing systems, and handling mail and deliveries. Additionally, you will ensure the reception area is presentable and well-stocked, maintain office security protocols, and support special events and projects as assigned by the Public Affairs Department.
The position demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities to effectively interact with internal staff and external stakeholders. Having proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and being able to multitask in a dynamic work environment are critical for success. You will also be responsible for managing office supply inventories, coordinating with service representatives for equipment maintenance, and contributing to a smooth and welcoming environment for all visitors.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - one year of office clerical experience
 - training in secretarial skills and common office equipment
 - typing/keyboarding of at least 50 wpm
 - strong communication skills, both oral and written
 - good organization and attention to detail
 - ability to maintain strict confidentiality
 - familiar with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston programs and philosophy
 - highly proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
 - strong organizational and project management skills
 - ability to absorb new information rapidly
 - ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
 - highly organized with attention to detail
 - able to work harmoniously with people at all levels of the organization
