The role of the Medical Administrative Coordinator at MACC is integral to the smooth functioning of the practice's daily clinic operations. This position primarily involves managing front desk responsibilities, including greeting and registering patients, handling phone calls promptly, verifying insurance details, collecting co-pays, and preparing patient records accurately in the electronic medical record system. The coordinator plays a pivotal role in scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments according to established protocols while maintaining physicians' appointment schedules and preparing charts. Additionally, the role requires handling various administrative tasks such as processing cancellations, managing mail distribution, coordinating referrals and laboratory orders, and assisting patients with billing inquiries. A key responsibility of this position is to ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
