The Manager in Training (MIT) position at World Wide Wings is designed to cultivate and develop future leadership within the restaurant. This role offers a comprehensive management training program that rotates through key operational areas, including Heart of House (HOH), Bar Department, and Hospitality Manager duties. The MIT plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of these departments, ensuring smooth operations, strict adherence to company standards, and delivering an outstanding experience for guests. As a Heart of House Department Manager, the MIT takes responsibility for managing all food and product matters, staff planning, and development within the kitchen area. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality control, inventory management, and improving bottom-line profitability through effective cost and labor controls. The Bar Department Manager role involves supervising the bar’s operation, managing beverage inventories, complying with Responsible Alcohol Service protocols, and motivating the bartending team. The Hospitality Manager role focuses on dining room service, guest satisfaction, and team member management within the front-of-house operations. The MIT collaborates closely with the General Manager to oversee the entire restaurant's operation on a shift-by-shift basis, supporting overall business success. They are involved in staffing, training, scheduling, performance management, and developing action plans to foster employee growth. The role also demands effective communication, team motivation, and ongoing problem-solving to handle guest comments and food quality issues promptly. Utilizing tools like Guest Experience Management (GEM) and detailed performance metrics, the MIT helps drive operational excellence. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have prior restaurant or retail management experience (preferably with bar management), and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. The position requires the successful completion of the Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program and a valid driver’s license for travel between units.
