This employment opportunity is for a Night Shift Custodian position within a well-established healthcare facility that prioritizes cleanliness and sanitation in patient care environments. The Night Shift Custodian will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning tasks that include operating equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and polished. These responsibilities also involve managing various cleaning solvents and chemicals while adhering strictly to regulatory requirements, including those set by OSHA, the EPA, and local health authorities. The position demands a keen eye for detail as the custodian will be tasked with dusting furniture, light fixtures, window sills, and other surfaces to eliminate dust and contaminants. Daily duties extend to emptying trash containers, wet mopping floors in patient and staff rooms, and damp mopping corridors and common areas to maintain a spotless environment.
Additional responsibilities include cleaning wash basins, mirrors, and commodes to prevent contamination and infection spread, reporting needed repairs for timely maintenance, washing windows as per scheduled intervals, and stripping and recoating floor areas to preserve the facility’s flooring integrity.
