The company emphasizes core values such as optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit, which guide its operations and employee culture. By joining American Cruise Lines, team members become contributors to a vibrant community dedicated to storytelling and exemplary service aboard some of America’s finest vessels. The Server position for the 2026 cruising season at American Cruise Lines is a temporary role extending up to 28 weeks, specifically designed for individuals passionate about hospitality and delivering superior guest experiences in a dynamic onboard environment. Servers work in an elegant shipboard hotel and restaurant setting where their primary responsibility is to create an inviting and memorable dining atmosphere for guests. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with travelers from across the country while honing skills fundamental to a career in hospitality. Compensation for this position ranges from $1,000 to $1,400 per week, supplemented by additional bonuses. Importantly, all major living expenses—including travel to and from the vessel, accommodations, meals, uniforms, and paid training—are covered, enabling employees to save substantially from their earnings. The role demands dedication and stamina, requiring employees to work long shifts up to 12 hours daily for 7 days a week. Servers are expected to demonstrate professionalism and attentiveness, ensuring each guest receives personalized and courteous service. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down dining areas for multiple meal periods, efficiently delivering food and beverage orders, suggesting menu items and pairings, and catering to special requests with care. Moreover, servers may support other hospitality functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation, hosting afternoon teas, and assisting with evening entertainment events. Serving aboard one of the company's ships also entails adherence to safety protocols and participation in emergency training to uphold the well-being of both crew and passengers.
