Denver Botanic Gardens is seeking a Seasonal Private Events Associate to join its prestigious Events Department at the York Street location. This is an on-site position that supports both the public and private events teams, directly contributing to the success of a variety of events including weddings, receptions, corporate functions, and large public celebrations like Blossoms of Light. The role is vital in ensuring that each event is executed flawlessly and that guests have a positive and memorable experience.
The position demands flexibility, as it requires working weekends, evenings, and some holidays. It involves working in a variety of settings such as indoor and outdoor venues, occasionally in challenging weather conditions or non-air-conditioned spaces. The Seasonal Private Events Associate acts as the on-site contact for assigned events, coordinating logistics, monitoring event setup and breakdown, and maintaining open communication with clients, caterers, vendors, and senior management.
Key responsibilities include serving as the event representative for the private event team, executing set-up and teardown of event equipment including lighting, sound, signage, and supplies, and ensuring adherence to Denver Botanic Gardens’ policies. The role requires a keen eye for detail, especially in inspecting venue spaces post-event for cleanliness and potential damages. Additionally, this role supports audio-visual teams with setups and provides assistance during public events as needed.
Ideal candidates will possess strong customer service skills, the ability to multitask and troubleshoot spontaneously, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams is also important.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a minimum of one year of relevant experience in special events, catering, hotel, or restaurant settings, and a valid driver's license.
