This particular role is within an independently owned and operated franchise of The Learning Experience, where all hiring and employment decisions are made by the local franchise management. The position is for a Cook who plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the children by preparing nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements and ensuring all food safety standards are met. This is an hourly position offering compensation between $14.00 and $16.00 per hour. The Cook acts as an ambassador of happiness, reflecting the mission of the center by creating opportunities every day to make a positive difference in the lives of children, their families, and communities. As a Cook at The Learning Experience, you will be responsible for planning and preparing balanced meals tailored specifically to the nutritional needs of children. You will maintain strict adherence to food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure that all meals are served safely and hygienically. An important part of the role includes tracking and communicating food allergies for each child to staff, to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care. You will work closely with the Center Leadership team to purchase food and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records required by local and state agencies. Beyond meal preparation, the Cook represents the center with professionalism by providing excellent customer service to parents and children and demonstrating flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of a childcare environment. This role requires someone who is conscientious about safety, detail-oriented, and passionate about contributing to an enriching childcare experience. • High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking
• Possesses a food handling certificate or ability to receive within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
