The role offered is a critical part of Whole Foods Market’s retail team focusing on food production and presentation within various departments such as the cold case, fresh pack, salad bar, and hot bars. This is an hourly position with a wage range between $16.50 and $30.20, dependent on experience. It plays a vital role in ensuring food quality, safety, and attractive presentation to meet customer expectations and uphold the Whole Foods Market brand reputation. Team members in this position are tasked with preparing food items based on production sheets and recipes to guarantee consistency and freshness. This includes labeling, dating, covering, and rotating food items, as well as timely replenishment to maintain product availability.
Customer service excellence is a key expectation in this role, requiring courteous, friendly, and efficient interaction with customers and team members alike. Employees must adhere strictly to store and team Standard Operating Procedures and promote a positive company image through their service. Furthermore, compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, is mandatory. Team members must also be able to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in varying temperature conditions.
