The role of Preparation Cook at Advocate Health's Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Food and Nutrition Department is a full-time position based in Winston Salem, NC. This role is designed for individuals dedicated to supporting the food and nutrition services within a leading healthcare environment. Working 40 hours per week with a rotating variable schedule, this position offers a competitive pay range between $18.50 and $27.75 per hour, coupled with benefits eligibility from day one, including health coverage options and generous paid time off starting at 25 days per year. The Preparation Cook contributes directly to patient and customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of food service and quality, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of food preparation areas, and adhering to strict sanitation guidelines mandated by health authorities. Responsibilities include food preparation, plating, and assisting with tray line service, all while upholding Sodexo and departmental standards for food safety and quality. The candidate will be expected to maintain high sanitation ratings, monitor product quality, minimize waste, control costs, and support team productivity and schedules. Emphasis is placed on maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, documentation standards such as HACCP, and completing all required training programs.   • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Two years’ experience in food services, in a medical environment preferred
