The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a vital part in maintaining the quality and presentation standards that the company promises its customers. This position primarily focuses on ensuring that customer vehicles are meticulously cleaned both before and after repairs, complementing the high-quality repair work performed by the technical teams. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of both shop and office facilities. The responsibilities include daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying waste containers, cleaning floors, dusting surfaces, and managing the orderly placement of tools and equipment. The Porter also contributes to the upkeep of parking lots and grounds, including sidewalk shoveling when necessary, ensuring the entire facility maintains a professional and safe appearance. Beyond facility upkeep, the Porter supports operational efficiency by transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations for specialized repairs and performing pre-wash tasks on customer vehicles to prepare them for service. This role demands strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively. It also requires physical stamina and the capability to perform tasks such as lifting weights up to 50 pounds, walking and standing for extended periods, as well as stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, clear close vision, and be at least 18 years old. Automotive experience is preferred but not mandatory, and a high school diploma or GED is desired. The Porter position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $15 to $18 depending on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
