Within this vibrant institution, the Dining Halls Department plays a critical role in providing exceptional food service and hospitality to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Yale is currently seeking a part-time, temporary Service Worker to support food service operations at 344 Winchester Avenue, New Haven. This role offers an hourly wage starting at $22.12, with responsibilities designed to ensure a high-quality dining experience in line with Yale's standards of excellence.
The Service Worker position is essential for maintaining the smooth functioning of the dining areas. Employees in this role will be responsible for serving menu items, managing food and supply transportation, assisting with inventory and storage, and upholding safety and sanitation regulations. The position requires hands-on interaction with customers, including serving food, receiving meal payments, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the Service Worker will engage in cleaning and maintenance of various dining and kitchen areas to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for all patrons. This role demands physical stamina, as the job includes frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and working in temperature-variable environments.
