The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is vital in maintaining quality assurance by ensuring that customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned before delivery. Porters play an essential role in enhancing the customer experience by preparing vehicles for both the beginning and completion stages of repairs. In addition to vehicle detailing, this position is responsible for the upkeep of the shop and office facilities to maintain an orderly, safe, and appealing work environment. This includes daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage, sweeping, dusting, and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored. Moreover, the Porter manages the appearance and cleanliness of parking lots and grounds, including snow removal when necessary, reflecting the company’s attention to detail beyond the service bays. Additional duties involve transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations for specialized repairs, demonstrating the role’s operational importance in the repair workflow.
