Service Porters play a vital role by managing vehicles throughout the service process, assisting customers, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the dealership. The Service Porter position at Mercedes-Benz of Portland involves a variety of responsibilities centered around vehicle movement, maintenance, and customer interaction. Porters assist customers by greeting them when they drop off their vehicles for service and support sales activities by managing the display and arrangement of vehicles on the lot. Responsibilities also include delivering vehicles to customers, assisting shuttle drivers, and performing thorough cleaning and upkeep of all vehicles to ensure they meet the dealership's stringent standards. The role requires someone attentive to detail and proactive in identifying vehicle or building maintenance needs, promptly reporting these to management to uphold the dealership’s pristine condition. Moreover, Service Porters must monitor tire pressure, add air or fuel as needed, and maintain the internal and external appearance of the dealership's showroom and lot, ensuring a pleasant environment for customers and staff alike. The role may also involve running miscellaneous errands to support the daily operations of the service department. Ideal candidates will have a professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset dedicated to delivering exemplary customer service. This position involves working shifts from Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., effectively supporting the dealership’s operational needs during business hours. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
