This full-time role requires dedication to keeping the building and property in a clean and orderly condition to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. The typical pay range for this role is $16.00 to $31.46 per hour, reflecting the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary. Actual pay will depend on factors such as experience, education, and geographic location. As a Porter, you will perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning restrooms with restocking supplies. The responsibility extends to maintaining the building free from indoor pests and managing trash disposal by emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste in compactors or dumpsters. Additionally, maintaining the outer premises by cleaning entrances and outside areas is a key part of the job. You will also be tasked with dusting and disinfecting all surfaces, washing windows, and identifying and performing minor repairs such as painting when needed. Inventory management of cleaning agents and equipment is essential, alongside reporting maintenance needs to the appropriate staff. This role requires maintaining the work area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times while performing other duties as requested by supervisors. This position demands physical ability including walking, standing, pulling, climbing, bending, reaching, and stooping for extended periods. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment, independence, and effective communication skills. Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime is expected, emphasizing teamwork and customer service focus.
