The role of Lead Captain at Clay Lacy Aviation is a highly responsible and dynamic position within the flight department, specifically catering to the operation of Gulfstream G500 and G650 aircraft. As a Lead Captain, you will not only act as a flight crewmember but also serve a pivotal role in bridging effective communication between the account and various key departments including the Account Manager, Director of Maintenance (DOM), Director of Training, Assistant Chief Pilot, and Trip Support Specialists. This position is full-time and based in Van Nuys (KVNY), California, offering a salary range between $380,000 and $400,000 annually. Additionally, the role provides fully paid medical and healthcare premium benefits.
In this role, you must ensure strict compliance with relevant regulations, directives, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Your duties will include coordinating and managing crew schedules, facilitating training events, reviewing expense reports and invoices, and overseeing the operational readiness of the aircraft. As Lead Captain, you will foster a positive working culture within the flight department, maintaining strong internal relationships and upholding the ideals of Clay Lacy Aviation across all stakeholder interactions.
The position demands a proactive approach towards safety, training, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing aircraft inventory, safety audits, performance evaluations, and compliance with all necessary regulatory mandates. Maintenance oversight includes awareness of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events, communication during aircraft on-ground (AOG) situations, and reviewing maintenance invoices to ensure accountability and effective resource use.
