The General Manager at Pei Wei Asian Kitchen plays a pivotal role in driving the operational performance and overall success of their designated restaurant. This full-time position is responsible for managing day-to-day restaurant activities while ensuring that all company standards, processes, and recipes are adhered to consistently. The General Manager is the leader of the restaurant’s management team and staff, accountable for fostering a safe, sanitary, and respectful environment that enhances both the guest and employee experience.
This leadership role goes beyond simple supervision to include the active promotion of sales and profitability through strategic planning and execution of local marketing initiatives. The General Manager takes ownership of customer relations, ensuring high satisfaction levels and creating goodwill within the community. They are also responsible for talent management, recruitment, and training of team members to meet Pei Wei’s internal training standards. A certified expert in both culinary operations and front-of-house service, the General Manager is involved in maintaining quality control by conducting regular line checks and overseeing inventory management.
Additional administrative responsibilities include handling payroll, invoicing, cash management, and ensuring compliance with applicable food safety and sanitation regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and an ability to embrace change positively while consistently driving key performance metrics. Working conditions require physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and handle up to 30 pounds during shifts.
