The Patient Services Representative at ScionHealth plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients visiting our clinics. This role is primarily responsible for welcoming patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, scheduling appointments, handling telephone communications, and accurately collecting payments such as copays, deductibles, and past-due balances at the time services are rendered. The Patient Services Representative fosters a team-oriented atmosphere by supporting a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail, as the Patient Services Representative must efficiently navigate electronic health records systems to verify insurance, update patient demographics, preload charts electronically, and scan documents into patient records. Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with patients and healthcare staff alike are essential traits for success in this role. Responsibilities also include managing medication refill requests, maintaining both electronic and paper medical records, and participating in onboarding and training of new personnel.
