Currently, Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for a part-time Patient Dining Associate Dietary Aide position located at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, Louisiana. This role is vital within the healthcare facility as it directly contributes to patient care and satisfaction through food service. The Patient Dining Associate will work weekdays from Monday to Friday with hours that may vary and must be available to work every other weekend. Those hired will receive a competitive hourly wage range of $14.00 to $15.00. In the role of Patient Dining Associate, individuals assist patients on assigned hospital units by helping them make informed menu selections that align with their dietary requirements. They assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays ensuring meals are served accurately and timely at the right temperature. As part of the caregiving team, the associate helps maintain patient safety and satisfaction by closely collaborating with nursing staff and dietitians to address any food allergies, sensitivities, or specific nutritional needs. The associate also supports regulatory compliance by adhering strictly to health, safety, and sanitation standards such as HACCP and HIPAA policies.
The Patient Dining Associate is responsible for managing tray tickets, assembling patient meals correctly, and retrieving trays from patient rooms according to schedule. They follow infection control procedures and help monitor patients with special diet plans, such as those on liquid diets or requiring calorie control. Communication is critical in this role, as any issues or concerns about patients’ meals must be promptly reported to appropriate personnel. Additionally, the associate completes required reports and performs other duties as assigned, ensuring smooth food service operations within the healthcare facility.
Candidates for this position need a background or preference for hospital food service experience, as well as physical ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and push food delivery carts. They must demonstrate basic computer and math skills and possess the ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
