Wolfgang Puck Catering is currently seeking a highly skilled Pastry Chef to join its team at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures located in Los Angeles, California. This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, with schedules that include varying days and hours, including weekends, based on business needs. Compensation for this role ranges between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, reflecting the company's competitive pay standards.
In the role of Pastry Chef, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creative planning and supervision of daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods. This position requires a balance of culinary artistry and operational discipline to ensure adherence to recipes, standards, and food safety protocols. Managing food costs, ensuring proper portion control, and maintaining food presentation and temperature are key responsibilities. The Pastry Chef will oversee the pastry kitchen’s sanitation and equipment upkeep to comply with federal, state, and corporate regulations. Supervisory duties include managing hourly pastry staff through activities such as interviewing, scheduling, training, payroll oversight, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary. The role involves active participation in planning seasonal menus, ordering requisite pastry supplies, and maintaining inventory levels to meet production demands.
