The Cleaner role at ABM is a vital position dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are just entering the workforce or returning with limited experience and education. On-the-job training is provided, so no prior experience or formal education such as a high school diploma or GED is required. The Cleaner will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities in accordance with ABM’s high standards, following established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
The position specifically involves performing tasks such as cleaning furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment; moving furniture and equipment when necessary; washing and replacing blinds; cleaning glass surfaces like windows and interior partitions; gathering and emptying trash; sweeping walkways; managing seasonal outdoor tasks such as raking leaves or removing snow; and servicing restrooms. Throughout the shift, Cleaners are expected to maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers. Cleaners also adhere strictly to safety, security, compliance, and quality standards prescribed by ABM and regulatory authorities.
The position is based at 6000 West Van Buren Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85043, with a consistent Thursday through Saturday schedule from 6 PM to 4:30 AM. The hourly pay rate is $16.70, reflecting the company’s commitment to competitive compensation for frontline team members.
