Michaels has built a reputation as the best place for all things creative, catering to a diverse customer base ranging from hobbyists to serious crafters. The company prides itself on fueling the joy of creativity and providing a welcoming environment for customers and team members alike. At the Michaels store located in Buffalo Transit, NY, we are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Event Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position focuses on planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of events, primarily children's birthday parties, within the store. The role is designed to create stress-free, fun, and engaging experiences for guests of all ages, from young children to seniors. The Event Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that every event is executed seamlessly, maintaining high standards of service and client satisfaction. Administration tasks such as email communication, phone calls, and paperwork are also integral to the role, as is the ability to adapt plans based on client feedback or unforeseen circumstances. Ensuring cleanliness and safety before, during, and after events is essential to uphold company standards. In addition to event coordination, this role demands excellent customer service skills. The position also involves operational store duties such as truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and adherence to safety and company policies. Ideal candidates will possess a passionate, energetic approach with strong organizational, communication, and creative problem-solving skills. Experience working with children's events, retail, and customer service is required. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, performing light lifting, and working in a public retail environment during nights, weekends, and early mornings. Michaels offers a competitive base pay ranging from $15.50 to $18.20 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package for both full-time and part-time employees designed to support their well-being and professional growth.
