Reporting directly to the Director of Culinary Services, this position involves preparing meals in accordance with established menus and recipes, ensuring that all dishes are both visually appealing and palatable at the correct temperature. The Cook will be responsible for handling specialized dietary needs, including therapeutic diets, ensuring that portion control and food safety standards are met at all times. This includes preparing cold items, bakery goods, salads, and cooking hot foods, all while adhering to food service timelines and culinary procedures.\n\nIn this role, the Cook also serves as a liaison to our residents, providing meals to those who decline daily options and assisting with special events, parties, and gatherings by preparing diverse food selections. Maintaining sanitary conditions in the kitchen, adhering to Food Serve Safe regulations, and keeping work areas clean and secure is imperative. Inventory management and food supply replenishment are also important aspects of the position to maintain smooth kitchen operations.\n\nIdeal candidates will possess strong customer service skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to work independently while managing time effectively. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed, including availability for on-call duties, is expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills in English are advantages.
