This role requires an individual with strong paraprofessional engineering or construction experience, capable of overseeing the lifecycle of projects funded through CDBG and the Quality of Life Bond initiatives. The Coordinator acts as a liaison between multiple stakeholders, including Parks Department staff, neighborhood associations, city representatives, and engineering professionals, to define project scopes and ensure that all project activities comply with established plans, safety regulations, and building codes. This position demands diligent monitoring and reporting on project progress, requiring attendance at construction meetings and site inspections to verify workmanship, material quality, and equipment suitability. Attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly across different groups are paramount to success in this role.
Candidates for this position should have an Associate's Degree or higher in Engineering or Drafting Technology, or a related physical science field, accompanied by at least two years of progressively responsible engineering or construction experience, or alternatively, 30 college credits in a related field combined with four years of related work experience. Some roles within this position might require a valid Texas Class 'C' driver's license or an equivalent from another state by the time of appointment.
