This Packaging Line Lead role is a key position based at Palermo’s brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in West Milwaukee. The Packaging Line Lead will be instrumental in guiding team members, improving line productivity, and ensuring every frozen pizza leaving the line meets Palermo’s gold standard. As a full-time first-shift role, the Packaging Line Lead will work primarily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with hours occasionally varying to meet production needs. In this leadership position, you will be the frontline coach and mentor for your packaging team, responsible for training, supporting, and leading your colleagues to reach their full potential. You will serve as the go-to person for troubleshooting packaging machinery, performing line changeovers, and ensuring the smooth operation of the production line. Maintaining compliance with food safety standards such as GMP and BRC is critical, along with upholding a clean and organized workspace. Effective communication across shifts to ensure seamless transitions and minimal downtime is a vital part of your responsibilities. Beyond leading daily operations, you will assist with documentation and reporting, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes. A hands-on approach is essential as you will run packaging machines when necessary and train others to operate the equipment safely and efficiently. You will also act as an advocate for your team by identifying recurring challenges and collaborating with leadership to seek out effective solutions.
