The role of Outstation Maintenance Supervisor at Kalitta Air is a critical position within the Maintenance Department. Reporting directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor oversees station personnel and is responsible for administrative duties, personnel training, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, including those outlined in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). The position involves managing labor relations, safety awareness, and fostering open communications among maintenance staff. This role requires a proactive and organized leader who can plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations, and repair activities on company aircraft and ground support equipment.
The Maintenance Supervisor must ensure that tools, spare parts, and equipment are available and properly maintained following company policy. They coordinate closely with Line Station Managers and Maintenance Control to ensure seamless workflow and operational efficiency. This role carries the authority to enforce discipline and recommend termination if necessary, emphasizing the supervisory responsibilities held within the department. The supervisor is also tasked with updating departmental manuals to keep revision status current and ensuring that personnel use correct, up-to-date manuals. The position may involve delegating duties to qualified assistants, but ultimate responsibility for the maintenance tasks rests with the supervisor.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience working with the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air, hold an FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate under 14 CFR Part 65, and possess strong organizational and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Legal eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting heavy weights, working at heights, and operating in various weather conditions. The work environment is typically loud and involves construction and maintenance settings.

- Able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds to eye level
- Capable of lifting 10 pounds over head with each arm
- Able to twist, turn with normal strength forces
- Able to climb stairs, work on ladders and lifts
- Capable of working at high elevations and in squatted positions
- Able to perform duties in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers frequently
- Occasional sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Experience in maintaining aircraft
- FAA certification under 14 CFR Part 65
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US
