The Server position at Denny's is a vital role responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by greeting, seating, and attending to customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Server plays a key part in ensuring total guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. This role involves taking and delivering accurate orders, suggestively selling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase check averages, and handling payment transactions with integrity and accuracy. Servers must be attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and station assignments, and adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently under the brand standards. Servers at Denny's are expected to exhibit a strong sense of urgency and professionalism, greeting guests promptly upon arrival and ensuring a timely dining experience while also adhering to company policies and safety standards. The role requires physical stamina as it involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting trays and supplies, as well as handling potentially hazardous materials with care. Servers must also support team members by assisting with seating arrangements, maintaining cleanliness and organization of service areas, and completing side work including deep cleaning tasks.
