City of Hope Orange County is revolutionizing cancer care by delivering world-class expertise and specialized treatment close to home. Situated within an 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine, City of Hope Orange County hosts the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center—its state-of-the-art outpatient cancer center—and is preparing to open Orange County's only dedicated cancer specialty hospital in late 2025. This expansion marks a new era in comprehensive cancer care availability for the local community.
The upcoming cancer specialty hospital will provide a full spectrum of advanced cancer care options—from prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship. This facility will house 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, and will pioneer groundbreaking clinical trials alongside holistic patient support services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. The Food Service Worker role is an essential part of this healthcare environment, providing support in locations where food is prepared on the property. This position involves assisting with the setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of kitchen equipment and workstations, and ensuring that kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment are kept in excellent condition. The role requires a reliable individual who contributes to the smooth operation of food services, assisting both staff and patients alike.
As a Food Service Worker, duties include preparing hot or cold foods, adhering to food safety and temperature standards, reading recipes or product instructions, estimating food quantities, and operating various kitchen tools to prepare and serve meals.
