This role is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) for the Operations Supervisor at Alliant Energy Center. The successful candidate will oversee all operational staff and manage the execution of events to professional industry standards. Reporting directly to the Executive Center Director, the Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless planning, preparation, and execution of events from start to finish. Responsibilities include developing staffing levels right-sized for efficient event set-up, presentation, and breakdown; coordinating with various departments and external clients; and ensuring all events comply with relevant contracts, policies, safety, fire, and health codes. The supervisor also handles budgeting, purchasing, human resource coordination, and operational logistics related to event production and customer service. The position demands an individual who excels in multi-tasking, critical thinking, and working under pressure to meet event start times and client expectations. The Operations Supervisor must provide exceptional customer service to all show promoters, exhibitors, and guests while overseeing contracted staff, LTE general laborers, and permanent team members including crew leaders and center lead workers. Acting as the manager on duty during events, the supervisor ensures that staff and clients fully understand venue policies and procedures, developing and maintaining robust staff training, policy, and procedural documents to uphold operational excellence. A strong knowledge of personnel management, supervisory techniques, and public assembly venue operations is essential. Candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to analyze complex data, prepare and manage multi-million-dollar labor and equipment budgets, and utilize various software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Momentus, CAD, and PowerPoint.
