The role of Operations Manager at Bombardier’s Hartford Service Center within Learjet Inc is a pivotal position responsible for the oversight of aircraft maintenance operations. This role demands a leader who can manage assigned maintenance employees and oversee daily and overall departmental activities, ensuring technical performance, safety, adherence to schedules, personnel management, quality control, and the successful execution of maintenance for multiple line maintenance sites. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing complex operations and coordinating multiple facets of aircraft maintenance to meet FAA regulations and customer quality expectations. Key responsibilities include developing annual budgets for the Aircraft Maintenance department, managing workforce requirements, approving vendor and supplier payments, and achieving financial objectives such as labor margins and operating expenses. The Operations Manager must ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA health and safety guidelines and federal, state, and local environmental laws. They will also interact directly with customer representatives, handle communications, and resolve disputes related to maintenance invoicing. Additionally, the Operations Manager will identify staff training needs to maintain workforce qualifications and productivity, ensure the availability of proper tooling and equipment, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within program procedures and processes. They will analyze service and maintenance data to identify trends, support margin performance, and assist in strategic planning to support new programs and market capabilities.   • Have 5 years experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility environment with at least 1 year supervisory experience
  • Possess a Bachelors degree in related area or equivalent years of experience
  • Have working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application
  • Have accounting and budgeting principals acumen necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs
  • Be familiar with environmental, health & safety rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
