The role of Utility Worker plays an essential part in this organization by performing various fundamental labor tasks necessary for the upkeep and servicing of airport properties. This is a hands-on position suitable for individuals who have a proactive approach to physical work, environmental safety, and teamwork. As a Utility Worker, the incumbent will be responsible for a diverse range of duties that include collection of refuse from designated waste receptacles, debris clean-up on airfield ramps and service roads, and weed abatement across safety areas and airport-related parking lots and properties. The position further involves maintenance and repair work on runways, taxiways, and other paved surfaces through cleaning, asphalt patching, and pavement marking. Painting roadway markings requires operating specialized walking and riding painting machines, spray guns, and other mechanical painting tools. The role also includes responding to maintenance service calls promptly, performing basic facility repairs, and providing assistance and physical labor under the guidance of senior Utility Workers, Technicians, or Supervisors. The operational environment demands vigilance and strict adherence to health and safety protocols to ensure the welfare of the team and airport visitors. The Utility Worker must report unsafe conditions immediately and operate in compliance with comprehensive environmental safety and health programs.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must possess a valid California driver’s license, Class C, with an acceptable driving record
  • ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around aircraft and ground support equipment
  • good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, bending, standing, climbing and walking for extended periods
  • basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • ability to follow safety procedures and use protective equipment
