The role of Event Coordinator within Michaels is a unique and engaging position located in the Pelham Manor, NY store. This position involves the planning, coordinating, and facilitating of multiple events, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other creative activities that bring joy and fun to guests. The Event Coordinator serves as a vital link between the store and its community, ensuring that every event runs smoothly, clients are satisfied, and the store upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The Event Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of event execution, from engaging clients of all ages by fostering an atmosphere of creativity to demonstrating craft projects and performing interactive activities such as face painting. This role also entails administrative duties, including handling emails, phone calls, and paperwork, as well as adapting event plans based on client feedback and developing contingency strategies for unforeseen circumstances. Beyond event planning, the role includes delivering outstanding customer service by assisting customers with product selection, facilitating smooth checkout experiences, and educating customers on rewards programs and company credit offerings. The Event Coordinator also supports operational store functions such as merchandise stocking, truck unloading, and store maintenance to ensure that the shopping environment meets Michaels' brand promises.
