The role of Event and Program Assistant within the City of South Bend is a pivotal position aimed at supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of activities and events in various park spaces and community venues. This is a part-time position, offering up to 15 dollars per hour, with a work schedule that varies and includes weekends and evenings, spanning approximately 15-20 hours per week. The event assistant plays an essential role in assisting with staffing, event setup, and program implementation to ensure successful community engagement and seamless operations.
This position entails a dynamic array of responsibilities that include aiding the manager with staffing and programming decisions, supervising youth and teen participants, and facilitating communication with the public while supporting various recreational activities such as fitness classes, music programs, and movies in the park.
