The role being offered is a combined Merchandiser and Cashier position at O'Reilly Auto Parts, focused on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the sales floor in a clean, organized, and customer-friendly manner. The hourly pay range for this position is $16.50 to $24.50, with the actual rate at or above the minimum wage required by the job location. Additional compensation such as annual and quarterly performance bonuses or premiums based on work schedules and specific circumstances may be applicable, and multiple premiums could apply simultaneously.
As a Merchandiser, the primary responsibilities include greeting customers as they enter the sales floor, helping them find products, or directing them to parts specialists when needed, especially for hard-to-find parts. The role involves checking in stock, pricing merchandise, and stocking shelves according to company planograms and display guidelines. The employee will maintain fully stocked and clean sales displays, update sale pricing and signage during promotions, and remove sale materials when sales end. Merchandisers assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns and support the overall store operations by working with management on daily to-do lists and team weekly tasks. The position also includes acting as a shoplifting deterrent and providing front-floor security. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities tied to the O'Reilly Image Maker program, ensuring the store presents a professional and appealing image to customers.
The Cashier responsibilities complement merchandising duties by processing customer purchases efficiently and courteously. Cashiers handle transactions using various payment methods, including cash, checks, and credit cards, manage merchandise returns professionally, and help customers at busy counters or express lanes when required.
