This part-time, non-management position at Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Plano Parkway entails performing planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces as needed. Responsibilities include tasks such as flipping and inspecting mattresses, box springs, and assembling bed frames, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing stains from carpets and upholstery, dusting, touching up paint and furniture, ensuring all room fixtures and appliances are present and functioning properly, replacing light fixtures, and inspecting grout and caulking. In addition, this role involves maintaining, repairing, and cleaning guest rooms according to the hotel’s preventive maintenance standards. Minor miscellaneous repairs are expected, such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes. General cleaning duties include surfaces such as bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. This role requires immediate communication with managers or supervisors regarding serious maintenance issues, unusual discoveries, or safety hazards. The associate must adhere strictly to company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions. Safety training and certification are part of the position's requirements. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company property are essential. This role also includes greeting and assisting guests in line with company standards, anticipating service needs, fostering positive working relationships within the team, and supporting team goals. Physical demands include reaching above the head and below the knees, bending, twisting, dragging, and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and assisting with heavier objects. This position requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods throughout the shift. The role also entails performing other reasonable work duties as requested. Educationally, a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate is essential. Related work experience is minimal, under one year, with no supervisory experience required and no licensing or certification necessary.
