We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as full-time Cook Helpers at St. Paul's School located at 325 Pleasant Street, Concord, New Hampshire. This role is pivotal as a foundational position within the kitchen brigade, designed for those looking to develop culinary skills and advance towards becoming a qualified cook. The Cook Helper will assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items, learning to maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout their work. The schedule typically includes early mornings starting at 5:30 am through to early afternoons, with some variation depending on operational needs. Pay ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, reflecting the experience and skills brought to the role. In this position, the Cook Helper will engage in diverse culinary tasks including reading menus to estimate food requirements, preparing ingredients according to standardized recipes, and adjusting controls on kitchen equipment such as ovens and steam kettles under supervision. This hands-on role also involves tasks like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming a variety of foods, seasoning dishes appropriately, and portioning meals for service. Beyond cooking, responsibilities extend to maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, handling food safely, and ensuring supplies are procured and organized. The Cook Helper will also play an important role in customer and coworker interaction, ensuring a courteous and efficient working environment.
