The Events Manager position within the Division of Development and Alumni Relations is a full-time staff role classified under pay grade A10. This role involves working closely with the Executive Director of Events and other department leaders to flawlessly plan and execute a wide range of events. Events facilitated by the manager will include groundbreakings, dedications, forums, lectures, memorials, scholarship lunches, and other significant university activities. These events often represent important opportunities to engage stakeholders, celebrate achievements, and advance the university’s fundraising goals. The Events Manager is responsible for comprehensive event coordination duties encompassing the creation and management of timelines, checklists, budgets, staffing plans, and logistical details. This role requires a strategic approach to event planning, ensuring that each event meets intended objectives while adhering to budget constraints. The manager will also maintain and enhance invitation databases, generate reports, and prepare printed materials for approval, thereby ensuring a seamless and professional event experience. Vendor management and contract negotiation form an essential part of the role, requiring the Events Manager to establish and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers to secure necessary goods and services at optimal costs. Additionally, the Events Manager is tasked with managing special committees for events by defining goals, facilitating meetings, and guiding committees toward successful outcomes.
