Jacksonville, FL, USA, FL Full-Time $60,000 - $65,000
The company offering the Management Trainee position is an established player in the transportation industry, recognized for its dedication to operational excellence and leadership development. This organization specializes in efficient cross-dock logistics and freight delivery services, maintaining a reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction through innovative solutions and a strong commitment to employee growth and operational efficiency. As a key participant in the logistics sector, the company places high importance on early career training and leadership grooming to sustain its high operational standards and customer-centric approach. Through structured programs and mentoring, the company ensures that employees are well-equipped to succeed and lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. About the role: The Management Trainee role is part of an intensive 16-week Operations Management Trainee Program designed to prepare candidates for initial leadership or supervisory roles within operations. This entry-level position provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to the transportation industry, focusing on core operational principles, including the management of cross-dock operations, leadership communication skills, and relationship-building techniques. Under the guidance of a mentor, trainees engage in guided and independent study to complete the leadership training program, tackling daily interactions with both Support Center and Service Center personnel to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience. In addition to academic and practical learning, trainees will spend time accompanying Account Managers on customer sales calls to better understand customer relations and business development. Occasional ride-alongs with drivers on local delivery routes help further deepen understanding of freight operations and delivery processes. This multifaceted training ensures that trainees develop a holistic view of the company’s operations from the ground up. Successful completion of the trainee program will lead to placement in an initial leadership position, which will require relocation to another facility within the company’s network. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field, or have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Prospects must maintain an acceptable driving record that meets company safety standards and demonstrate flexibility to relocate as necessary to meet business needs. Effective verbal and written communication skills, alongside professional demeanor, appearance, and an earnest work ethic, are crucial for success in this role. Basic computer proficiency is also required to facilitate operational tasks and communication. Starting annual pay ranges from $50,000 to $65,000, with shifts typically on the third shift. This role suits individuals seeking to develop operational leadership skills within the transportation sector, offering a blend of mentorship, hands-on training, and career advancement opportunities within a reputable logistics company.
