This full-time position based in Madera, CA offers an 8-hour night shift with a competitive pay range between $22.70 and $31.80 per hour, depending on skills and experience. As an Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Technician, the role involves working under the supervision of an EVS shift supervisor and manager to maintain impeccable levels of cleanliness and sanitation across the medical center. The technician ensures patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, lobbies, and other ancillary spaces meet rigorous infection control standards and regulatory requirements. In this role, the EVS technician is responsible for deep cleaning processes, including floor maintenance such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and shower scrubbing tiles, as well as carpet cleaning, wall washing, furniture cleaning, and various project assignments to support the overall hygiene and aesthetic appearance of the facility. This position is essential for creating a safe, healthy environment for patients, families, healthcare staff, and visitors by adhering to strict infection control practices. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently, applying good judgment and common sense while communicating effectively with a variety of individuals, including department staff, hospital employees, physicians, and the public. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of two years of housekeeping, floor, or carpet cleaning experience in healthcare or hospitality settings, or completion of floor and carpet care training with demonstrated competency. Preferably, candidates will also possess frontline customer service experience, the ability to read, write, and understand instructions clearly, and skills in handling cleaning chemicals safely and confidentially managing patient information.
