As the area's leading healthcare provider, TMH operates a 772-bed acute care hospital and stands out as the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, and Pediatric Intensive Care facility. TMH also offers some of the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic, and surgery programs in the Panhandle. With a workforce of over 6,000 colleagues representing the diverse local community, TMH has established itself as a top career destination for healthcare professionals who value compassionate, quality care and community service.
This position focuses on food preparation within TMH’s food service operations, primarily preparing appealing and nutritious foods for patients, cafeteria, and catered events. The role demands strict adherence to special diet recipes to ensure nutritional needs of patients are met according to medical and dietary guidelines. Candidates must be proficient in following recipe guidelines accurately and contributing to smooth departmental operations by assisting in other related tasks as needed. This position also has critical responsibilities centered on food safety and sanitation, requiring strict compliance with HACCP guidelines and thorough documentation of all HACCP-related activities during food preparation. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is an ongoing daily requirement, including routine cleaning assignments.
Reporting directly to the manager and functioning independently without supervisory responsibilities, this role is ideal for individuals who take pride in delivering high standards of hygiene, quality food preparation, and attention to dietary details. TMH highly values individuals committed to the legacy of quality and compassionate healthcare services it provides. While a high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum education required, vocational or technical school credentials are preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in food preparation, with two or more years considered advantageous. No specific certifications or licenses are mandated, but a demonstrated commitment to food safety, patient care nutrition, and teamwork is essential. TMH operates as an equal opportunity employer and requires all employees to pass drug screening, background checks, reference verification, health assessments, and credential or license verification for employment eligibility.
