The Executive Chef role at Wesley Court is a senior culinary position that offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced culinary professional to join a dynamic and mission-driven team. The position offers a competitive annual pay range between $56,400.00 and $77,600.00 plus benefits, reflecting the importance of this role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for senior residents.
As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for directing the preparation and approval of all menu items, ensuring that recipes are followed accurately, and maintaining a collection of tested recipes. Your creativity and expertise will be essential in assisting with the creation of menu cycles that meet the community's high standards for nutrition, quality, and resident satisfaction. You will also oversee production activities, including managing contracted services to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance. Monitoring vendor services and providing updates on projects and tasks will be a critical part of your duties.
Your leadership will ensure that the kitchen staff adheres to department rules, sanitation requirements, and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe culinary environment. You will be responsible for inventory management, including maintaining par levels and tracking supplies to meet operational needs and any state emergency relief requirements. Additionally, you will prepare daily production sheets, forecast supply needs for dining venues, catering, and special functions, and coordinate food preparation with meal service times. This coordination aims to preserve the quality, temperature, and appearance of food served.
Budget management is also key for this role. You will need to ensure that operating, inventory, and labor budgets for the kitchen are achieved, implementing cost controls and authoring variance reports as necessary. Furthermore, managing and maintaining physical kitchen resources, equipment, and regular operation maintenance under your supervision will help maintain high standards of production, sanitation, and safety daily.

                - Bachelor's degree, related culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
 - Five to seven years of chef experience in hospitality, fine dining, or similar environment
 - Food Handler certification obtained within 60 days of hire as required by state guidelines
