The role of a Grill Cook is essential in our busy kitchen. A Grill Cook’s primary responsibility is preparing food on the grill, predominantly meats, but also vegetables and other items depending on the restaurant’s menu. This role involves not only cooking but also ensuring the food is cooked safely by monitoring the temperature and appearance of the items. Beyond cooking, the Grill Cook is tasked with preparing ingredients before service hours and as needed throughout the day, plating food attractively, and maintaining cleanliness of the grill area to comply with health standards. Additionally, experienced Grill Cooks often take on the responsibility of training new cooks, sharing best practices, and ensuring consistent quality.
