This role is for Line Cooks who play a pivotal part in maintaining the high standard of food quality and service that PJ Whelihan’s is known for. Reporting directly to the Assistant Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Manager, the position demands culinary skill, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Line Cooks at PJ Whelihan’s are responsible for preparing dishes through various cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing. They must adhere to strict portion sizes, presentation standards, and kitchen policies to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellent quality. Beyond basic cooking tasks, Line Cooks are expected to manage their stations meticulously, ensuring sanitation, compliance with food handling procedures, and proper inventory control. This role also involves assisting with food prep during slower periods, taking full responsibility for the quality of dishes served, and contributing to a smooth service experience for guests. The closing duties include following detailed checklists to maintain kitchen cleanliness and readiness for the next shift.
