The position of Kitchen Associate at Harmons offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and customer service. This full-time role, with an hourly wage ranging from $16.80 to $20.00, involves maintaining high quality standards and product levels within the kitchen department. The Kitchen Associate will assist chefs with food preparation duties such as cooking, frying, and assembling dishes according to Harmons' recipes. This role is essential in ensuring food safety by holding all items at the proper temperatures, managing inventory levels, receiving and stocking products, and keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized daily.
Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Associate is also a frontline representative providing excellent customer service. They are expected to adhere to established store policies, maintain product quality, and ensure the kitchen’s overall cleanliness meets company standards. Cooking tasks include preparing hot foods, assembling pizzas for take-and-bake options, baking pizzas for the hot case in certain locations, and preparing sauces and other items used in the kitchen. The role also includes packaging to-go foods such as soups, salads, dips, and sandwiches.
The ideal candidate should have a current Food Handler's Permit, the ability to follow recipes precisely, and basic math skills for measurements and recipe adjustments. Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a passion for food are essential. This role requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, reflecting the demands of the retail and food service industry. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in varying temperature conditions frequently encountered in a kitchen environment.
