As a non-exempt role eligible for overtime, the Line Cook will play a crucial part in maintaining the standards of quality, diet adherence, and presentation of patient meals. The Line Cook must demonstrate proficiency in various a la carte cooking techniques including sautéing, grilling, broiling, frying, and individual plating assembly. They will utilize an array of commercial kitchen equipment and follow strict quality and safety protocols to ensure food meets established departmental guidelines.
This role requires handling multiple individual food orders simultaneously while maintaining portion control and abiding by dietary restrictions for patients. It is essential that the Line Cook maintains cleanliness and safety standards by properly using cleaning agents, adhering to infection control procedures, and fully documenting the disposition of leftovers or overproduction. The Line Cook is expected to contribute to an efficient work environment by supporting the orientation of new employees, responding promptly to management requests, and actively participating in department meetings and in-service training sessions.
