The role of a Line/Prep Cook is a critical position within our kitchen team. This role requires a passionate and skilled culinary professional who can manage the preparation and cooking of various dishes in an efficient and timely manner. As a Line/Prep Cook, you will operate primarily in the hot line, specializing in cooking dishes using the sauté method, including meats, seafood, sauces, and vegetables. Your responsibilities extend from preparing ingredients and setting up workstations to ensuring that every dish meets the restaurant's recipe standards and quality criteria. You will play an integral part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines.
In this role, you must demonstrate proficiency with kitchen equipment and utensils and have a strong ability to follow recipes to consistently create products that meet business expectations. The position demands excellent communication skills to follow directions from the Chef and work harmoniously with other kitchen staff. Experience with sauté and grill cooking techniques is necessary, as is the flexibility to prepare special meals for guests with dietary restrictions. Furthermore, you must be able to maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced setting, ensuring timely food preparation without compromising quality.
